To Begin Respite Service: - Contact a Service Coordinator at your local regional center and decide on agency (California Respite Care) to provide respite service to your loved one. Then, you and your service coordinator will create an IPP (Individual Program Plan).
- Next, the In-Home Respite Agency you have chosen (California Respite Care), will receive complete authorization through your local Regional Center to provide services to your family.
- Our Agency will then contact you and YOUR preferred Respite Caregiver (You may choose someone you already know to be your respite provider and they may be put on payroll through our agency), OR, we will provide a compatible caregiver for you. Packets are sent out for completion by both family and Respite Caregiver, then returned to our agency for processing. If no caregiver is referred by family, we will provide you with a caregiver after we have evaluated your needs. They will then meet with your family/loved one for at least an hour with an assigned supervisor to ensure a compatible match.
- When all steps are complete and family is paired with their respite care provider (their caregiver), the family will be notified that services may begin.
To Begin Extended Private Service: This is an option for people who are not Regional Center Clients, or who need the hours of service that exceed their approved Regional Center hours. We will first need to set up a home visit to complete an intake application. This allows us to meet with you and your family, including your loved one in need of care. We will review all of our policies and procedures, sign all of the necessary paperwork, and we will conduct a brief home safety inspection. This will ensure to you and our potential care provider that the environment is safe to work in. We will then match your loved one with one of our care providers according to your needs. Our extended private service rates vary from $18.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on the level and difficulty of respite care needed.
